"Unlike many of the other fine offerings in our cheese case, Trader Joe’s Chocolate Mascarpone is not a wedge, slices, or shreds. It’s a creamy, spreadable dessert Cheese that can help make your wildest Chocolate dreams come true! More precisely, it’s a handful of ingredients (literally five), starting with pasteurized cream and milk. Citric acid is introduced to the rich dairy to form curds, which are then strained and blended with cocoa powder and sugar. That’s it! Though this Mascarpone is reminiscent of chocolate mousse or whipped cream, in fact, it has a significantly denser texture. And the flavor is rich, without being bittersweet, or too chocolate-y. These qualities mean our Chocolate Mascarpone is equally delectable on dipped strawberries, inside crêpes, on top of cupcakes, or between toasted bagel halves.
