"Last year, we carried a collection of full-flavored English fudges as part of our holiday candy selection, and as so often happens with these sorts of supergroups, one Fudge ended up becoming the breakout star. So now, back in our stores for this year’s holiday season for a highly anticipated solo tour, may we re-introduce to you Trader Joe’s Clotted Cream Fudge! Once again, it’s made expressly for us by an expert supplier in England, who uses a classic recipe that includes salted butter, sugar, sweetened condensed milk and, of course, Clotted Cream, to create a Fudge that’s sweet, crumbly, and exquisitely buttery, which simply melts in your mouth the moment you take a bite. For those who’ve never tried Clotted Cream before: it’s a preparation of fresh cream, commonly associated with southwestern English cuisine, made by steaming or scalding milk, then allowing it to cool until it thickens into something like a dense, lightly nutty, English version of mascarpone. The same qualities that make Clotted Cream a hit when spread on scones in the U.K. are also at work within this Fudge: the plush mouthfeel, the subtle milky notes, the buttery, round flavor...
