Mandu Korean Kimchi Potstickers

"Just as Chinese cuisine has jiaozi and Japanese cuisine has gyoza, Korean cuisine has mandu. Estimated to have arrived in the Korean peninsula sometime in the 1500s, mandu come in a variety of shapes (some are circular, some are pyramidal, some look like little coin purses) and are stuffed with all sorts of savory fillings (pork, fish, and napa cabbage are especially common). Brought to us by a Korean supplier, Trader Joe’s Mandu have a flat, almost envelope-like shape, which makes them super easy to prep in a pan, and a satisfyingly spicy Kimchi and glass noodle filling, which makes them even easier to enjoy.
Indeed, after just a few minutes on each side in a hot pan with a bit of oil, these Mandu go from frozen to fantastically crisp, engrossingly aromatic, and ready to serve. They’re a truly convenient weeknight dinner option, especially when combined with rice and our Stir Fry Veggie Blend, and also make an excellent addition to a spread of Korean TJ’s favorites, including our Tteok Bok Ki and Kimbap. And whether they’re an appetizer or the entrée, these Kimchi Mandu take remarkably well to dipping in Yangnyeom or a quick mix of Soy Sauce and Rice Vinegar."
