Pretzel Buns

"What’s a burger without a bun? A house without a floor or roof, that’s what—and we may be grocers, not architects, but we’re pretty sure that houses generally need floors and roofs. That’s why we offer a bevy of bun varieties on our bakery shelves, including Trader Joe’s Pretzel Buns. Available May through August on our bakery racks, these Pretzel Buns offer all the savory delights of a soft Pretzel, and all the Epicurean- architectural advantages of a classic burger Bun, all in one! They’re made for us by pretzel experts out of Wisconsin, who know just the right ratio of ingredients needed to get that rich, mahogany color, delightfully chewy consistency, and malty flavor in every bite. We find that their flavor profile and texture make them a real boon to burgers, and many other styles of sandwich, as well: we especially recommend piling them high with any of our deli meats (our Uncured Pastrami or Bresaola are particulary great choices), cheeses, and condiments on offer. Of course, since these are Pretzel Buns we’re talking about, mustard is a must-have on any burger or sandwich you build with them. Be sure to keep your toolbox (AKA pantry) stocked with plenty of Whole Grain Mustard or Organic Yellow Mustard for a job well done."
