Shrimp Noodle Rolls

"Originating in the Guangdong province of southern China, where they’re known as cheung fun, rice noodle rolls are treasured in Chinese and other Southeast Asian cuisines for their simplicity and heartiness. They’re typically made by steaming a silky, rice-based batter until it’s just set into a large, flat noodle, then filling it up with various savory-seasoned veggies and proteins, rolling it up, and serving. For our first foray into cheung fun-inspired fare in our freezers, we’ve brought in Trader Joe’s Shrimp Noodle Rolls, an easy way to enjoy all the textures and flavors of this dim sum star from the comfort of your kitchen. Much like our frozen Gyoza offerings, all it takes to prep our Shrimp Noodle Rolls is to heat a little oil in pan, place the Rolls in, cover them with a lid so they’re allowed to both steam and get nice and crispy on the bottom, then enjoy. They’re great as a side dish when served with a nice stir-fry, make an excellent entry to a larger dim sum-inspired spread with our Pork & Ginger Soup Dumplings and Chicken Shu Mai, and are an effortless entrée in their own right when paired with some leafy greens. Whatever the context you enjoy them in, we recommend pairing them with some savory, tangy, and/or spicy dipping sauces—we recommend a simple mix of Soy Sauce, Rice Vinegar, and Sesame Oil."
